About
RuKAV - (“Sleeve” in Russian) - is a “Russian-speaking Cultural and Academic Association” based in Zurich, Switzerland (abbreviation from the German name “Russischsprechender Kultureller und Akademischer Verein”). It was founded on 19.07.2025.
Goals
As stated in our statutes, the RuKAV is a not commercially, politically, or religiously motivated association, which pursues the following goals:
To facilitate connections among students and academics, and others who share common interests, values, and deep connection to the Russian language, promoting collaboration and mutual support within the academic and professional communities in Zurich
To welcome new Russian-speaking members of ETH, UZH, and other higher education or research institutions in Zurich and facilitate their integration
To provide assistance and protection when the rights or interests of Russian-speaking academics are violated
To represent members of the association and their interests at meetings with other students, academics, associations, and institutions across Switzerland
To establish connections between academic and cultural institutions in Zurich (and across Switzerland) and in Russian-speaking countries, enhancing mutual exchange
To organize events that promote cultures of Russian-speaking countries within research institutions in Zurich
To bring together like-minded Russian-speaking people for joint events, cultural exchange, and open communication at research institutions in Zurich
To organize educational, social, cultural, sports, and other activities for both members of the association and the general public, fostering an inclusive community
To promote and teach the Russian language to individuals who do not speak it but have a strong interest in learning
To foster an understanding of Russian-speaking countries’ history, culture, and unique aspects among students at ETH, UZH, and other higher education and research institutions in Zurich

Privacy
This website is operated by RuKAV. We process personal data only as described below, in line with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).
Contact and membership forms. Forms on this site are embedded from Formsly (hosted in Switzerland). Data you submit (for example name and email) is transmitted to Formsly and made available to us so we can answer your enquiry or process a membership application. We do not use this data for marketing.
Analytics. We use GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly analytics service that does not set cookies and does not collect personal data. No cookie or consent banner is required.
Embedded content. The events calendar is embedded from Google Calendar. Links to Instagram and YouTube lead to those platforms, which process data under their own policies when you visit them.
Your rights. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and object to processing, by contacting us at contact.cause143@simplelogin.com.
